Styling Tips & Tricks
Everything you need to know for the perfect result
How do I get a long-lasting blowout with the Airstyler?
See the video from Kyra Steggink below. Key tips:
- Always use good products: shampoo, conditioner, heat protector and volume mousse
- Start on towel-dried hair (not soaking wet!)
- Work in small sections
- Let curls/waves cool down completely using the coolshot function to lock them in
- Finish with a light hairspray for extra hold
My blowout falls flat after a few hours: what am I doing wrong? This is often caused by:
- Hair too wet when styling (should be towel-dried)
- No coolshot used to lock in the style
- Too little volume mousse or styling products
- Hair not styled fully dry
How do the attachments of my Airstyler work?
1. Blow-dry nozzle For fast drying and straight hair. Aim the airflow section by section at your hair. Ideal for getting your hair 80% dry before you start styling.
2. AirWrap Curl Brushes (L & R) For curls and waves. Hold a section (max. 3cm) for 10-15 seconds, the Coanda airflow automatically wraps your hair around the brush. Alternate both directions for a natural result. Lock in with coolshot.
3. Thermal Brush For voluminous blowouts. Brush from root to tip, turning the ends inward or outward. Hold for 5-10 seconds per section and finish with coolshot.
4. Flat Blow-Dry Brush For sleek, straight hair. Brush in one smooth motion from root to tip. The ion technology prevents frizz and gives a glossy finish.
5. Diffuser For natural curls. Place your hair in the diffuser at your scalp and move minimally. Dries curls without disturbing them for a defined, frizz-free result.
Can I use the Airstyler or AirStraight on wet hair?
Yes, but towel-dried is ideal. Soaking wet hair takes too long and can damage your hair through excessive heat exposure.
What temperature should I style at?
- Fine/damaged hair: Low to medium setting
- Normal hair: Medium setting
- Thick/coarse hair: Medium to high setting
Always start lower and increase if needed: better safe than damaged hair!
Which products should I use for the best result?
Essential:
- Heat protector (always!)
- Volume mousse for body and hold
- Good shampoo & conditioner for healthy hair
Optional but recommended:
- Texturizing spray for extra grip
- Finishing spray for long-lasting hold
Should I always use heat protector? Yes, absolutely! Heat protector protects your hair against heat damage up to 230°C and gives a better styling result. Spray it on towel-dried hair before use.
ps. we're working on developing a heat protector tailored to our tools and developed to the highest quality standards.
Which attachment should I use for which look?
- Sleek & straight: Flat blow-dry brush
- Volume: Thermal brush
- Curls & waves: AirWrap curl brushes (L+R)
- Natural curls: Diffuser
- Fast drying: Blow-dry nozzle
Pro tip: Always start with the blow-dry nozzle to get your hair 80% dry, then switch to your preferred styling attachment for the best result!
#airstyler #blowoutroutine #blowout #gezondhaar #hairtok ♬ L.o.v.e. - Muspace Lofi
