Blowout Maken

Glad & Stijl Haar

How do you make a perfect blowout?

  • 1. Start with slightly damp hair

Dry your hair briefly with a towel or the hair dryer attachment. Moist hair grabs the curl better and holds it longer.

  • 2. Divide your hair into sections

Clip up your hair in layers. Start at the bottom and work up. This way you won't miss a tuft and you'll get an even result.

  • 3. Protect your hair before you start

Apply a heat protector to each section. Add styling mousse for extra volume, hold and shine that lasts all day.

  • 4. Curl section by section

Let the curl get hot well (at least 30-40 seconds) and then cool well on the cold setting (at least 30-40 seconds).

  • 5. Finish and fix

Allow your hair to cool completely before going through your hair. Finish optionally with a light hair spray for extra hold.

  • Still not working the way you want?

This is almost always due to one of these things:

    1. Your hair is too wet or dry when styling it

    2. Sections are too big so the airflow doesn't get a grip

    3. The curl has not been kept hot or cold long enough

    4. Practice makes perfect, the technique will pick itself up after a few times

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I ensure lasting blowout with the airstyler?

See below a video by Kyra Steggink. Key tips:

  • Always use good products: shampoo, conditioner, heat protector and volume mousse
  • Start on towel-dried hair (not dry or soaking wet!)
  • Work in small sections (use hair clips)
  • Let the curls cool completely with the coolshot function for fixation
  • Optional: finish with a light hairspray for extra hold

My blowout collapses after a few hours: what am I doing wrong? This is often due to:

  • Too wet or too dry hair when styling (should be towel dry)
  • No coolshot used for fixation
  • Too little volume mousse or styling products
  • Not letting curl get hot enough (at least about 30 seconds)
How do the attachments on my airstyler work?

1. Blow-dry head For fast drying and straight hair. Direct the airflow section by section on your hair. Ideal for making your hair 80% dry before styling.

2. AirWrap Curling Brushes (L & R) For curls and waves. Hold a section (max 3cm) for 10-15 seconds - the Coanda airflow will automatically pull your hair around the brush. Use both directions alternately for natural results. Fix with coolshot.

3. Thermal Brush For voluminous blowout. Brush from root to tip, turning tips inward or outward. Hold for 5-10 seconds per section and finish with coolshot.

4. Flat Dryer Brush For sleek, straight hair. Brush from root to tip in one smooth motion. Ion technology prevents frizz and gives shiny finish.

5. Diffuser For natural curls. Place your hair in the diffuser near your scalp and move minimally. Dries curls without disturbing them for defined, frizz-free results.

What products should I use for best results?

Essentials:

  • Heat protector
  • Volume mousse for body and hold
  • Good shampoo & conditioner for healthy hair

Optional but recommended:

  • Texturizing spray for extra hold
  • Finishing spray for long lasting hold

Should I always use a heat protector? A heat protector protects your hair from heat damage and provides better styling results. Spray it on towel-dried hair before use.

ps. we are developing a heat protector tailored to our tools and developed to the highest quality standards.

Which airstyler attachment do I use for which look?
  • Sleek & style: Flat hair dryer brush
  • Volume: Thermal brush
  • Curls & waves: Airstyler Curl pieces (L+R)
  • Natural curls: Diffuser
  • Quick drying: Hair dryer head

Tip: Always start with the blow dryer head to dry your hair 70%, then switch to your desired styling attachment for best results!
